1. A Table Laden with Food“When the disciples said: O Jesus, son of Mary! Is your Lord able tosend down for us a table spreadwith food from heaven? He said:Observe your duty to God, if ye aretrue believers. They said: Wedesire to eat of it and our hearts beat rest, and that We may know thatyou have spoken truth to us, andthat We may be witnesses thereof.Jesus, son of Mary, said: ‘O God,our Lord, send down for us a Tableladen with food out of heaven, thatshall be for us a recurring festival, the first and last of us, and amiracle from You. And provide usour sustenance, for You are thebest of providers!” (Quran5:112-114)2. While Still in the Cradle“He shall speak to people while stillin the cradle, and in manhood, andhe shall be from therighteous.” (Quran 3:46)Jesus said to the people:“I am indeed a slave of God. Hehas given me the Book and mademe a Prophet, and He has mademe blessed wherever I may be.And He has enjoined upon meprayers, and to pay thealms, aslong as I live and (He has mademe) kind to my mother, and He hasnot made me insolent, unblessed. And may Peace be upon me theday I was born, and theday I die,and on the Day I shall be raised tolife.” (Quran 19:30-33)3. And It Becomes a Bird“I create for you out of clay thelikeness of a bird, then I breatheinto it and it becomes abird withGod’s permission.” (Quran 3:49)4. Healing the Blind and the Leper“I also heal the blind and theleper.” (Quran 3:49)5. The Resurrection of the Dead“…and I bring to life thedead, bythe permission of God.”(Quran3:49)6. The Provisions of Today andTomorrow“I inform you too of what things youeat, and what you storeup in yourhouses. Surely in that isa sign foryou, if you are believers.” (Quran3:49)A DEMONSTRATION OF TRUTHSimilar to other prophets, Jesusperformed miracles to convinceskeptics of his truthfulness, not todemonstrate his divinity. TheQuran says:“Surely in that is a sign for you, ifyou are believers.” (Quran 3:49)These miracles were performedonly by the Will of God,had he notwilled them to occur, they couldnever come to be. God explicitlystates this in the Quran, saying thatthey were:“…by the permission ofGod” (Quran 3:49; 5:10)Although Muslims can not confirmit, the Bible, through certainnarrations, states that Jesus attimes failed to performmiracles.Once when Jesus tried to heal ablind man, he was not healed afterthe first attempt, and Jesus had totry a second time (Mark8: 22-26).In another instance, “He could notdo any miracles there, except layhis hands on a few sick people andheal them.”(Mark 6:5)The fact remains that indeed it wasnot through his own will that Jesusor any other prophet performedmiracles. Rather, they wereperformed only by Will of GodAlmighty – a fact also explicitlystated in the Bible:“A man attested to you by God withmiracles and wonders and signswhich God performed through himin your midst.” (Acts 2:22)Allahu Akbar
